Why retouch?
No photograph is complete coming straight from the camera.Whether the image is a landscaped vista, a studio portrait, or something entirely different, every photograph requires some degree of post-processing.
Headshot retouching requires a very subtle hand--too much retouching can change a person's appearance beyond reality, and not enough retouching can leave a performer looking less than his or her best (a death knell for your 8x10). Some performers are under the impression that a retouched photo is somehow untrue--but keep in mind that in everyday life, no one can sit and fixate upon your face for more than a few seconds. Your headshot will (hopefully) sit in the hands of a casting director or agent far longer than that.
Doesn't it make sense to clean up blemishes, stray hairs, smudged makeup, and other temporary distractions? Of course it does. And industry professionals expect this.

I offer retouching on all of my shots for an affordable fee. Rates depend upon the severity of the retouching, and the time involved in correcting the image (a simple blemish removal is an easy task, fixing bad hair or changing body contours is not).Basic retouching for a single image shot by me starts at $25.
Retouching for images shot by other photographers starts at $35.
